TUFACE & D'BANJ NOMINATED FOR BET 2011 AWARDS

African big shots and Nigeria’s biggest musical exports 2face Idibia and Mo’hits’ D’banj made their country proud by clinching the ‘Best International Act For Africa‘ at the recently concluded BET Awards. The awards which took place the Shrine Auditorium, Los Angeles was hosted by actor/stand-up comic Kevin Hart.
The biggest winner of the night was R&B singer Chris Brown who bagged four awards including Best Male R&B Artist, Best Collaboration with Lil’ Wayne and Busta Rhymes. Wiz khalifa won the award for best new artiste but it was the kiss he shared with girlfriend Amber Rose as he walked up stage that caught the audience attention.
Performers of the night came from Rick Ross, Chris Brown, Bruno Mars, Alicia KeysPatti LaBelle, Beyonce (who’s performance was pre-recorded), Kelly Rowland, Drake, DJ Khaled, Big SeanAfter SevenFive Heartbeats and others…Warren G. and Snoop Dogg, dressed in all black perform to ‘Regulate‘ honoring one of Hip-Hop’s greatest hook men, Nate Dogg.
Another high special moment of the show were the tributes and honours given to Patti LaBelleGil-Scott and Nate Dogg.
The nominations for the BET Awards 2011 was officially announced live Tuesday night 17th of May on “106 & Park.” . The 11th annual show will be broadcast live from Los Angeles on June 26.
